Montana is a big place.
Which makes learning about climate change across the state a big task.
Here, we focus on the 18 million acre Crown of the Continent landscape in northwestern Montana and southern Canada, which includes the Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex, Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains, the big Blackfoot River, and the Rocky Mountain Front.
The Crown has been called a natural laboratory of climate change for years now because its glaciers, snowfields, forests, and wildlife species are allowing scientists to see the impacts of warming temperatures and drier conditions throughout this incredibly diverse, but sensitive, landscape.
