Scientists and researchers can be found throughout the mountains, glaciers, snowfields, rivers, and alpine meadows of the Crown of the Continent, as they try to understand the ways in which a warmer and drier climate affects life in this landscape.

The tremendous diversity of the Crown, coupled with its sensitivity to warming temperatures, has created a natural laboratory in which to study climate change.
